TRADITIONAL INDIVIDUAL GAMES


SARANGGOLA

            This game played usually every windy season in empty places. Saranggola is usually made of string, paper and stick. They can be of any form, the important thing is, it can freely fly. This game became popular in every corner of the country and further became a Kite Fight.
             This Kite fight includes designing of the kite. The one with the most beautiful design will have a good score. Another factor to be considered is its ability to fly in its farthest capacity.  Children and even adult people, plays this native game.

TRUMPO


 
         This individual game is played usually by boys of any age. A trumpo is a wood that is formed like a water drop with a nail at the bottom. This is played with the help of a rope. The rope is being wrapped in the trumpo starting from the intersection of wood and nail up to the half of the wood.    
           When playing the said game, you must be on a flat surface so that the trumpo will turn as expected. In this game, the player with the longest life span of turns will be the winner.

PIKO


            Piko is a native game played individually. This game is mostly played by girls. Piko is usually played in the backyards and even in roads with few cars passing by. There must be a drawn play space, a 9 box square where the players step with their one foot in each box. The players must have a “pamato”, usually a flat stone or a peace of broken tile.
           The rule here is, the player must step on the first box kicking the stone to the next box. If the stone goes to the wrong box, the player will lose her turn but the stone will be placed where it should be from the last kick. On the other hand, if the player finishes the game, she will be given a privileged to have her “bahay” from one of the boxes where she can step on it with her two feet. In contrary to this, the other players will have to jump over her “bahay”.


JOLENS/HOLEN

       Jolens is a kind of game played by kids and even teenagers. This kind of game gives the players the privilege to get the marble of the other players. The players will put their “taya”, one or two marble depending on what was their choice, in a small circle. They will then throw their jolens from the circle to the toe-line. The one with the closest marble to the toe-line comes first; the second closest marble will be the second, and so on.
         The first player then has the chance to get as many marble as he wants as long as he can get the marble inside the circle away or he can touch the other players marble once they did their shots too.



TRADITIONAL GROUP GAMES

Patintero is a children's game usually played on empty streets, schoolyards and beaches. It involves a grid lin drawn on the ground where one team will try to pass through the opposing team while the opposing team will try to catch them without leaving the grid lines all throughout the page.
